um:i
um:i is a small Berlin-based brand bringing curiosity, playfulness and a fresh perspective to intimacy.
Founded by Nina and Simon, both systemic coaches with a background in strengthening relationships, um:i grew from personal experiences and a desire to help people connect in new ways.
Their card game, Playdate for Two, invites couples to step outside familiar routines and explore intimacy through playful experiences, shared discoveries and moments of connection.
Rather than a traditional question-and-answer game, it encourages couples to explore together through different activities, with the freedom to choose what feels right for each person.
Developed with attention to design and quality, the game was brought to life through crowdfunding and is produced in Germany using FSC-certified materials.
Behind um:i is the belief that intimacy is something we can continue to discover, with curiosity, openness and a little humour.
Why I Fell in Love with um:i
I recently discovered um:i, and what caught my attention wasn't just the idea of the game, but the story behind it.
I've always believed that conversation is essential in any relationship. Being able to talk openly, listen to each other and remain curious about the person we're with matters so much.
I liked that Nina and Simon had taken something from their own experiences and turned it into a thoughtful, playful way for couples to connect.
I also love discovering small businesses that create something a little unexpected, especially when there's a personal story and genuine care behind what they do.
It felt very close to what I've always wanted to share through my boutique.
So I decided to bring Playdate for Two to Basel.
For yourself, for someone you love, or perhaps as a rather unexpected gift for two.
