Inspired by the golden flowering of Brazil's Ipê Amarelo tree, this one-of-a-kind silk kimono is a celebration of nature's quiet strength and extraordinary beauty.
The Ipê Amarelo is known for blooming during the driest season, when its branches become covered in brilliant yellow flowers. It is this unexpected abundance of colour, a reminder of nature's capacity for renewal, that inspires Camila Machado's creation.
Made from pure silk, the kimono carries the delicate impressions of three flowers: macela, lending soft, luminous golden tones; delphinium, introducing subtle shades of blue and lilac; and cosmos, with its graceful forms and natural beauty. Through botanical printing, the plants leave their own traces on the fabric, creating a composition that can never be reproduced in exactly the same way.
On the back, a Tree of Life is embroidered entirely by hand. Its roots evoke belonging and connection, its trunk strength and continuity, and its yellow blossoms growth and renewal. Every stitch brings another dimension to the silk.
Light against the skin and beautifully fluid in movement, the kimono is as much a piece to live in as it is to admire.
