Lingerie Care Guide
Your lingerie is an extension of you: delicate, confident, and beautifully made. While it deserves care, looking after it is simpler than you might think.
We recommend handwashing your pieces in cold water, but we understand that isn’t always practical. Many of you have asked how to care for your Intensify Me favourites in the washing machine, so here’s how to keep them looking — and feeling — their best for years to come.
Throughout a garment’s life, the way we wear and wash it shapes its story and impact. Caring for your lingerie mindfully helps preserve its beauty, conserve resources, and reduce textile waste.
Small rituals of care. A lasting impact.
Hand Wash or Machine Wash?
Your lingerie deserves a gentle touch.
Avoid machine washing underwired bras, bodysuits, and corsets. The movement inside the drum can damage delicate fabrics and alter their shape. Handwashing is always the safest option.
To hand wash:
• Fill a basin with cool water
• Add a small amount of mild detergent
• Allow the garment to soak for a few hours
• Gently rub the areas closest to the skin
• Rinse thoroughly
Avoid fabric softeners — they coat fibres and weaken elasticity over time.
A Laundry Bag Is Non-Negotiable
If you choose machine washing, always use a lingerie bag.
Made from fine mesh or cotton, it creates a protective barrier that prevents snagging and tangling while allowing your garments to clean gently.
Before washing:
• Fasten hooks and clasps
• Place garments inside the lingerie bag
• Select a cool, delicate cycle
• Use a low spin setting
Suitable for:
• Knickers
• Bralettes
• Soft, unstructured bodysuits
Structured and underwired pieces still deserve handwashing.
Take Your Time, Do It Right
Care is a ritual.
Use a mild, bleach-free detergent and handle each piece gently.
Avoid:
• Twisting
• Stretching
• Aggressive scrubbing
Your lingerie’s delicate structure depends on a softer touch.
Skip the Heat
Heat is the enemy of elasticity.
Avoid:
• Tumble drying
• Ironing
Instead, lay your lingerie flat or hang it to air dry. Smooth and reshape gently with your hands to preserve its natural form.
Give Your Pieces a Little Love, Often
Because lingerie sits close to your skin, it benefits from regular care:
• Bras: after a few wears
• Knickers: after each use
A little attention goes a long way.
Treat your lingerie as you would yourself — with care, respect, and tenderness.
When you care for your lingerie, you’re caring for the woman who wears it.
